When inventory regulated by the GCA or NFA physically changes possession, this transfer must be recorded in FastBound. Depending on the type of your FFL, there are different time limits before the acquisition must be recorded in FastBound.

Creating a pending acquisition, attaching a contact, adding items, and committing the acquisition are the basic steps necessary to acquire items using FastBound. Until committed, the items referenced on a pending acquisition are not acquired and not considered in your inventory.

The process for acquiring consists of these basic steps:

Create a pending acquisition

Attach a contact to the pending acquisition

Add items to the pending acquisition

Commit the pending acquisition

FastBound also has an API method for creating an acquisition, attaching or adding a contact, adding items, and committing the acquisition, all in a single request.

Note: We strongly suggest using External Identifiers when possible.
