There are three possible reasons why the Chrome Extension is not working:

1. Your browser needs to be updated

2. The Chrome extension is out of date

3. Your internet is down  

These instructions are specific for the Google Chrome browser but they can also be applied to the New Microsoft Edge browser.

If these solutions don’t fix the extension, you can always remove and reinstall it.

Update the Google Chrome Browser

This is the most common reason why the extension is not working.

At the top right of your browser you will see an update button

Click the Update button, this could also show as an arrow pointing up

Then click the Update Google Chrome link

Your browser will update and restart

The Extension is out of date

The extension can be out of date for several reasons. You should try to update the extension before you remove it and reinstall it.

At the top right of your browser click the three little dots

Then click More Tools

Then click Extensions

At the top of the new page, click the Update button

You will get an alert at the bottom left saying your extensions were updated

Close the tab or restart Google Chrome

Your internet is down

If your internet is down you can call the background check into the ATF or your state POC and do a paper 4473
