These documents are not required documents, so there is no set amount of time that they must be stored. The intended purpose of keeping them on file separately from the 4473 is so that you may use them to “back up” the content of your Forms both for internal audits, to support you in any civil or criminal proceeding, and if ATF questions arise. Because of this, they should be kept on file for the life of the related Forms. They should not be made available on inspection, and should only be shown to ATF if it would help you prove that a Form was completed correctly.
