Automatic Electronic Transfers

Written by Jarad on March 20, 2023

When you dispose of items to an FFL who is also using FastBound, the disposition is sent to the transferee electronically and will appear in their account as a pending acquisition, if certain criteria are met.

When committing your disposition, FastBound will use your transferee contact’s email address, from their contacts details page, to check and see if they are using FastBound.

If they are, FastBound will then look at their accounts to find an account with an FFL number that matches the disposition contact’s FFL number. The email on your disposition contact must match the email of a FastBound user in the receiving/ transferee’s account for a pending acquisition to be created in the transferee’s account.

  • If the FFL number and user email are found, a pending acquisition is created in their account.

  • If the FFL number is not found (e.g. email address is not found in FastBound), then we will still email the contact the details of the transfer.

For each item transferred, the following fields are sent electronically:

  • Manufacturer

  • Country of Manufacture

  • Importer

  • Model

  • Serial

  • Type

  • Caliber

  • Barrel Length (inches)

  • Overall Length (inches)

  • Condition

  • Manufacturer Part Number

  • Manufacturer UPC

A user will still need to add the acquisition date, acquisition type, and review that the details of the firearm, on the pending acquisition, match with the physical markings of the firearm.

Additionally, the transferor’s FFL information is sent electronically. If the transferor exists in the transferee account’s contacts, the contact will be updated with the information transmitted at the time of transfer. If the contact does not exist, a new contact will be created in the transferee’s account.
