Form 8 (5310.11) – Federal Firearms Licensee Renewal Application

Written by Jarad on March 20, 2023

The number entered into Questions 7a and 7b should reflect the total number of firearms acquired (7a) from any source and the total number of firearms disposed (7b) from any source over the past three years.

The ATF is looking for a single total in both instances. The total should be for the FFL that is being renewed only, and exact numbers are preferred.

In FastBound, go to Items on the Main Menu

To Calculate the total number of firearms acquired (Q7a), expand the Acquisition panel.

In the Acquired On or After box enter the starting date. This date should be the date your current FFL was issued. If you aren’t sure you can look at the expiration date of your current FFL and subtract 3 years.

Scroll down to the Disposed Items drop down and choose “Both”.

Click Search and scroll down to the bottom of the search results table to see the total entries acquired. The text at the bottom of the page will show how many items you’re viewing per page, the total items found in your search, and your overall total. The number you need is the “of X,XXX entries”. In my example the total for Q7a would be 1,494.

To Calculate the total number of firearms disposed (Q7b), expand the Disposition panel.

In the Disposed On or After box enter the starting date. This date should be the date your current FFL was issued. If you aren’t sure you can look at the expiration date of your current FFL and subtract 3 years.

Scroll down to the Disposed Items drop down and choose “Disposed Only”.

Click Search and scroll down to the bottom of the search results table to see the total entries disposed. The text at the bottom of the page will show how many items you’re viewing per page, the total items found in your search, and your overall total. The number you need is the “of X,XXX entries”. In my example the total for Q7b would be 2,863.
