Void/No Transfer a 4473

Warnings

You should only Void/No Transfer a 4473 when the buyer or seller has canceled the 4473 for any reason.

DO NOT Void/No Transfer a 4473 when you receive a “Denied” response.

DO NOT check “Cancelled” in Q27b or Q27c unless you received a response of “Cancelled” from the state or federal background check system you use.

DO NOT enter a Transfer Date into Q36.

DO NOT enter a TTSN.

The Void/No Transfer 4473 MUST be printed or stored electronically and filled alphabetically (by name of transferee) or in chronological (by date of transferee’s certification) order.

Steps with screenshots

To Complete an electronic 4473 as a Void/No Transfer you must complete these steps in FastBound:

  • Add the Item the buyer was interested in purchasing (this should already be done)

  • A contact must be linked to the 4473

  • If you completed a background check

    • Q27 must be answered

If a background check was started Q27a, b, c, and d MUST be answered completely before the 4473 can be completed as a Void/No Transfer

  • If you did not complete a background check

    • Q27 must not be answered

  • Questions 34 and 35 MUST be answered

  • Question 36 “Date Transferred” MUST NOT be answered

  • The 4473 MUST NOT have a TTSN

  • Click the “Print” Icon, or if you store your 4473s electronically, click “Preview.”

    • If you are storing a printed copy of the 4473

      • The 4473 MUST be Printed

      • The printed 4473 MUST be filed numerically in your Void/No Transfer file

    • If you are storing your 4473s electronically

      • The electronic 4473 must be saved with your other Void/No Transfer 4473s

  • Close the 4473 PDF preview page
    ​

  • Click “Yes” you printed the form or “Yes” you previewed the form popup confirmation.

  • If you are storing your 4473s electronically you must send them to your 4473 cloud storage provider. If you have 4473 cloud, you would click the “Send to 4473 Cloud” Icon.

  • Click the ‘Void/No Transfer’ button

If you are unable to click the Void / No Transfer button because you started the background check you will need to complete Q27 to continue.

  • Enter the date the 4473 was Void/No Transfered
    ​

  • Enter a Note explaining why the 4473 was Void/No Transfer

  • Click the ‘Continue’ button

After the 4473 has been marked as Void/No Transfer, FastBound will remove the 4473 and mark the Contact with a status of Caution and save the notes entered.
